Clinical and Therapeutic Services
At KIDS R’ GIANTS Therapeutic Behavior Support Program in Corona, California, we aim to provide high-quality, evidence-based care for children and their families and help them achieve wholeness and happiness in their relationships and well-being.
Many children and families in our programs have suffered from past-traumas. Through our clinical and therapeutic services, we provided them with self-healing opportunities and helped cope with those traumas. Licensed clinical service staff are integrated into Kids R' Giants programs and may provide specialized and culturally competent services such as:
Individual and Group Therapy
Individual and Group Therapy
We provide in-house and field-based individual and group therapy sessions for children and their families to help them stabilize or improve their emotional and psychological functioning. Individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions are consistent with overall treatment planning.
Individual Therapy
Individual Therapy
This therapy consists of one-on-one sessions, where a licensed mental health professional works with children to identify, learn to manage, and ultimately overcome emotional or mental problems. The overall service philosophy for family/caregiver inclusion is “help the parent, help the child.”
Group Therapy
Group Therapy
Our group therapy services are provided to 2 or more individuals under the guidance of a licensed mental health professional. Children would benefit from collaborative feedback and support with sufferers of similar difficulties or functioning.
Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS)
Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS)
These are individualized short-term services that address specific behaviors and put the child at risk of needing a higher level of care or out-of-home placement (group home placement, hospitalization, juvenile hall, removal from public schooling, etc.). A TBS coach works directly with the child to address the cognitive barriers and help them achieve success in home and school.
Medication Support
Medication Support
When a need is identified during treatment planning, a licensed psychiatrist conducts an evaluation, identification, and review of the child’s medication needs. Our medication support services include prescribing and monitoring of necessary psychiatric medication.
These medications help alleviate symptoms of mental illness and allow the youth to better engage and have a voice in their own environment and treatment planning.
Crisis Intervention
Crisis Intervention
Crisis intervention includes stabilization of presenting emergencies as well as preventative strategies and measures to deter hospitalization and disruption of placement.
Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI)

Seeking Safety
Seeking Safety
Seeking Safety is a present-focused treatment for children who are exposed to trauma and have varying degrees of substance dependence. This intervention focuses on coping skills and psychoeducation.
It also has five key principles. The number one overarching principle being safety and helping clients attain safety in their relationships through thinking, behavior, and emotions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or “C.B.T.” is an action-oriented form of psychosocial therapy. This assumes that faulty thinking patterns cause faulty behavior and “negative” emotions and interfere with day-to-day living. The treatment focuses on changing an individual’s cognitive patterns to alter behavior and emotional state.
Crisis Oriented Recovery Services (CORS)
Crisis Oriented Recovery Services (CORS)
Crisis Oriented Recovery Services or “CORS” is a short-term intervention designed to provide immediate crisis intervention, identify case management needs, and assure linkages to ongoing services.
This intervention aims to develop one’s self-care coping strategies and provides alternatives to emergency room care or acute inpatient hospitalization.
